Seal of Biliteracy September Assessment Information
AAPPL and AVANT STAMP language tests will be offered to Seniors who have already met the English Qualifying score for the Seal of Biliteracy. The testing and registration details are below:

Time: 4:00pm - 6:30pm
Location: Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60005, Door 4

Seal of Biliteracy Registration
Registration Fee: $25, which includes an administrative fee. Payment can be received by check made out to Township High School District 214 and mailed to Mary Quinn at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60005, or it can be brought into the main office at your school. If you’d like to pay cash, it can be dropped off at the main office of your school or the Assessment Center.
- The AAPPL assessment is for the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin, French, German, Hundi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Thai. Students must earn a minimum of an I-5 on all components of ACTFL’s Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages (AAPPL) exam. - The AVANT STAMP 4S is for Hebrew and Polish. Students must earn a minimum of Intermediate High on all components of AVANT’s STAMP 4S exam. User guides and other information can be found at https://avantassessment.com/guides
- On both assessments students will be testing in the four language domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
If awarded, the Seal of Biliteracy will be placed on the student's diploma and transcript. Students can receive the seal in languages taught in and out of the District. To learn more about the qualifying scores for the Seal of Biliteracy, please visit page 30 of our 2019-20 Academic Handbook.
