Dear Parents & Guardians,
I trust this note finds you and your families doing well. We are in historic times right now as we address the COVID-19 virus and we wanted to provide you an update regarding the status of school for the near future as the situation continues to evolve in Illinois.
The John Hersey High School Symphonic Band won the title of AAA Honor Band at the
Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival this past Saturday, May 4th, at the University
of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
The Hersey Jazz Ensembles had great success at the 54th annual Mundelein Jazz Festival.
The Boys Varsity Basketball Team recently visited Timothy's Ministry at St. Peter Lutheran School to help those struggling with homelessness.
Hersey will host a Dance Marathon event on Saturday, March 9th from 6-10:30pm.
WEATHER ALERT: Due to predicted extreme weather conditions, all after-school activities and events occurring after 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 are canceled. Activity buses still will run as scheduled.
All District 214 after-school events and activities will run tonight (Monday, 1/28/19). Students will not be penalized if they cannot make a practice or contest. All Community Education classes will run as scheduled. The Young Adult Program also will run as scheduled this evening.
WEATHER ALERT: Due to weather conditions, all scheduled after-school activities are canceled for the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, January 22, 2019. The 4:15 p.m. buses still will run this afternoon from all the high schools, but the late buses will not run. All Community Education classes also are canceled.
Nick Nocita has been named to the NISCA/SPEEDO High School All-American Diving Team.
