Driver Education

We are pleased to provide a comprehensive driver education program, including both classroom and behind-the-wheel (lab), at John Hersey High School.  Our teachers are certified by the Illinois State Board of Education, wherein strict educational guidelines are followed.  High standards of competence are set for our students, and instruction is given in all types of learning modalities in order to reach all types of learners.

Students who complete our program experience:

  •     fewer crashes
  •     fewer personal injuries
  •     fewer traffic violations
  •     fewer license suspensions
  •     less economic loss

The Stats

The National Center of Health Statistics and the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety, report that motor vehicle crashes are the number on killer of our children 16-20 years of age.

An Illinois survey of over 25,000 16-17 year old drivers who received their instruction from public school revealed that students receive 250% less traffic citations and are 150% less likely to be involved in a serious car crash than those who participate in private driving school programs.

Come join us!  We’d love to have you in our classes!
