Get active with Hersey Activities

·      Boys volleyball free play will be held today and tomorrow from 3-5 in Carter gym.  These will be our last 2 free plays prior to volleyball tryouts on Monday March 5th. Thursday’s free play has been cancelled due to a gym conflict.  All guys interested in trying out for the team are encouraged to come to free play.

·      All student council members need to go to the Titre room 6th hour on Thursday March 1st.

·      Spring week is next week.  Monday night is movie night with a special presentation of Dodgeball at 7pm, free to get in.  On Tuesday, the bags tournament is taking place, on Thursday there is the free dodgeball tournament and Saturday is the dance.

·      Congratulations to Hersey's math team for their performance at Regionals this past weekend!  Four event teams took first place and qualified for the state meet.  Special recognition goes to the following mathletes for their contributions:  Jason Kalafatis, Nick Huene, Joe Koo, Ryan Kloud, Wes Crim, and Marie Hoeger

·      Hey Polish Club!  We have a meeting with pizza on Wednesday!  Join us after school in Room 204 to hang out and catch up.  We will discuss the cook-off idea against the South Asian Club, LASO, and Irish Club.  For those of you going on the ski trip, please turn in your forms and money to Mrs. Mabry or Kasia ASAP!  See you Wednesday for pizza!

·      Attention Polish Club skiiers!  If you signed up to go on the March 3rd trip, we need your forms and money by Tuesday morning, second hour!  Bring them to Mrs. Mabry's room- 204!

·      The Hersey Chess Club meets every Wednesday, in the commons. Stop by if you want to learn chess, or just want to play a quick game, The club has started playing a chess variant called Bughouse. If you know how the pieces move - you can play bughouse. Come by and learn how to play this quick paced game.

·      Hersey Guitar Club is meeting every Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00pm in the cafeteria.  If you want to bring gear, it will be stored in the Box Office/Student Council Office, opposite the cafeteria.

Important Hersey Announcements

·      The deadline for AP registration is March 14.  No late registrations will be accepted.  Any questions see Mrs. Roland or Mrs. Norum in room 141B.

·      JUNIORS: Although registration for the ACT prep classes was due on Friday, Feb. 24, if you didn't register on time, please turn in your forms on Monday to rm. 107 ASAP.

·      Attention all students who park in the basin, beginning today all cars must be removed from the Basin by 3:00 PM.  Spring sports will begin practicing today and cars left in the lot could be damaged.  Hersey is NOT responsible for damage to cars left in the Basin Lot after 3:00 PM today.  Feel free to move your car to another spot in the the north or west lot.  Thank you for your cooperation.

·      Students are reminded if they are taking a non-Hersey student as a guest to the upcoming Spring Dance, a completed guest form must be turned in at the time the ticket is purchased.  These forms are available online as well as in the main office.

·      Students don't forget to check your email for the Ed to Career Survey.  Don’t forget to get this finished ASAP.

·      SENIORS!!   If your school requires 7th semester transcripts, please come to the CCC to make your request. 

·      Do you want to find a healthcare program that fits your needs? Join us at HARPER for HEALTHCARE CAREER DAY on March 2 periods 2-8 for a tour and showcase of a variety of healthcare programs such as Radiologic Technologist, Phlebotomist, Nurse, etc…. Hurry, pick up a flyer with more detail and field trip form from Mrs. Behar in the College Career Center.

·      Do you enjoy teaching young children? Join us on March 2 periods 1-7 at HARPER for an EARLY CHILDHOOD WORKSHOP for a showcase of a variety of teaching strategies using music, art and storytelling. Hurry, pick up a field trip form from Mrs. Behar in the College Career Center or Mrs. Mosher in Early Childhood.

·      Do you want to be a Physician or Nurse? Do you like math and science? If so, join us at NORTHWEST COMMUNITY on March 7. We will also cover a variety of healthcare professionals at the mini fair. Hurry, pick up a flyer and field trip form from Mrs. Behar in the College Career Center. Space is limited!

·      Do you want to find out the similarities and differences between a Social Worker

            and Psychologist? Come join us on an ALEXIAN BROTHER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

            CAREER TREK on March 21. We will also cover Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Nurse, and

            Dance/Art Therapist. Hurry, pick up a flyer and field trip form from Mrs. Behar in

            the College Career Center.
